After campers got checked in they played on inflatables, enjoyed cotton-candy and popcorn, played games water balloons, water guns and water bucks (not a bad way to spend a hot afternoon), played basketball and got to know all their cabin-mates.
Once everyone got cleaned up and unpacked, we all headed to the dining hall. Dinner was so good, even the pickiest kids loved it. If the line for seconds was any indication, everyone was a big fan.
After dinner, each cabin practiced their skits before heading to the campfire. Opening campfire is always a blast. We sang songs, each cabin performed their skit, we learned the Indian Summer Camp song, and no campfire is complete without roasting s’mores. We also had our very special tradition of awarding bravery feathers to all the new campers and counselors.
Everyone is now getting all settled into bed so they can be well rested for our first full day tomorrow.
