The morning began with a slightly chillier polar bear swim than the last few days, which woke us up and got us ready for the busy day ahead.
It was graduate day so the graduating campers got to take a special trip to Lexington to go to Champs and ate lunch at Malone's. They reported back that they had a blast!
After a filling breakfast, we had a water balloon war the in backfield and make walking sticks for a hike to the secret bridge. Cabins also took turns making camp T-shirt in arts & crafts. Some cabins challenged others to basketball and soccer games. We also had quite a few campers try archery and fishing working towards the Davy Crockett and Fishing Awards (to be announced tomorrow). We also had special guests from DanceBlue who taught all the campers their line dance.
After Raising Canes lunch we were ready to take on the afternoon. We had lots of swimming and arts & crafts this afternoon along with lots of amazing visitors. Squallis Puppeteers came and put on a funny puppet show and helped all the campers make finger puppets.
The UK Football players came out and hung out with the kids in the pool and at the puppet show. Thank you UK for coming out!
The Iron Order Motorcycle club also came out this afternoon and the kiddos loved revving the engines and getting their very own Iron Order bandanas.
This evening, we enjoyed a steak and pork dinner cooked by a very special group of people who spent the entire day grilling and cooking for us.
After dinner, the oldest cabins got to play Bazooka Ball over on main campus and we had a very special closing campfire where we graduated 6 awesome campers.
Everyone is now sleeping tight in their bunks dreaming of all the fun we are going to have tomorrow.
Good night to all from Indian Summer Camp!
