Fantastic Friday

Even at the end of the week we still had 78 campers participate in Polar Bear Swim this morning! Way to go Polar Bears!

After breakfast, we had our Camp Storybook Adventure Game where each cabin went from story book character to character and had to complete various challenges to win beads. Challenges were full of water, shaving cream, messy goo and LOTS of FUN! Plus there were numerous “villains” who could steal their beads away, but luckily the “hero” characters could come and safe them. It was a blast and a great way to start off our last full day of camp.

The UofL Football team also came to visit this morning and ended up participating in the adventure game. They were also gracious enough to autograph jerseys for all of our campers. Thank you UofL Football!

For lunch, the Church of the Annunciation donated, cooked, and served Sloppy Joes which the kids ate up quickly.

This afternoon has been full of swimming, arts & crafts, fishing and archery. Campers are trying to get in as many “camp” activities as possible before heading home in the morning.

Our pasta dinner was also provided by the Church of the Annunciation- it was delicious and we can’t thank them enough for BOTH the meals they generously donated.

After dinner, the anticipation of the dance was in the air and the girls got all dressed up in their formal dresses and got their hair and make-up done by professional stylists. Geno’s formal in Lexington even donated tux vests and bow ties for the gentlemen campers to wear and they all look very handsome!

The dance did not disappoint! The music was rockin’ and the campers danced the Indian Summer night away.

It has been such a special week not only for the kids, but also for all of our staff and volunteers who have been lucky enough to spend the week getting to know these special kids. We thank you for allowing us the opportunity and hope your kiddos come home and tell you about all of the friends and memories they made at Indian Summer Camp.

See you all in the morning!

REMINDER: Camper Pick-Up is from 9-10:30am and the security gate code is 6785.
